Green Pan Review

I recently contacted Green Pan to take part in a review. I have heard so many wonderful things about these pans from friends that I needed to give one a try.

I was sent an 8 in. pan from the Coppenhagen collection. It's the perfect size for me to make a smaller batch of scrambled eggs for the kids in. And a great size for 1 grilled cheese.

We currently have the Rachael Ray hard anodized 14pc set and while I do like it, I'm not in love with the pans. They are lightweight and while some like that feature it's not one of my favorites. Also, the "nonstick" isn't very non stick.

Anyhow, as soon as I received my Green Pan I put it to the test making grilled cheese.
I try not to use too much butter and most times my grilled cheese sticks to the pan but with my Green Pan, it slid right off. I was truly in awe. { I may have a slight obsession with kitchen appliances}
I love that the pan is heavy, yet not too heavy.
{don't mind these horrible counters as the landlord still hasnt' fixed them after 3 years}
I also love the fact that the handle is longer than most of my other pans and it's oven safe!

Here's a bit about Green Pan from their website:

GreenPan™ does not use PTFE, but brings with Thermolon™ non-stick technology a healthy alternative to the market. Thermolon™ is heat resistant up to high temperatures. This means that GreenPan™ has an extra safety feature; if you overheat your pan, even up to 450°C/850°F, no toxic fumes will be released and the coating will not blister or peel.

A healthy and happy life in an enjoyable environment is our biggest goal in life. GreenPan™ commits to this, and invests 100% in research towards healthy and eco-friendly technologies.

Traditional non-stick is achieved by coating the fry pan with PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene); a waxy, synthetic substance. PTFE has well-documented disadvantages in practical household use. Above 260° C/500°F, this PTFE coating starts to decompose. The released fumes are proven to be lethal to small pets like birds! On humans, these fumes can potentially harm the respiratory tract and cause nausea and headaches. So, when you overheat your pan you damage not only your pan but possibly also your health.

You can purchase Green Pan online at HSN, Amazon.com, LeGourmet Chef and a few others.
They retail from around $24.95 to $89.99

I have to say I'm hooked on Green Pan and will most definitely looking to purchase a few more to add to my 8in. Coppenhagen pan!
