Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight Review @joovy

The following Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight review was written by Trisha of Momma T and Family who was provided with a Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight for the Baby Extravaganza Event which is being co-hosted by Momma T and FamilyRambles of a SAHMMy Four Littles and Party of 5! You can read her review below!

Before I had E, I never thought that I would have any use for a double stroller. I mean, I wasn't a mother of two and wasn't giving birth to twins so a single stroller would suit us, right? Well, On the the day E was born, eleven hours later my nephew Ryan entered the world as well. Yes, That's right, they were born on the same day!

I'll sometimes babysit Ryan and my family frequently attends events, parties, and has outings together so I quickly came to realize how convenient it would be to own a double stroller for both E and Ryan and something I could use with my nephew Angel as well.

I was thrilled to receive the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight for review! The stroller, in “Stand-On” mode, weighs just over 21 pounds and with the second full-size seat installed, is just over 23 lbs. It features two full-size reclining seats and the front seat has a 3-position recline while the rear seat has a 130 degree recline. Other features include:
  • Parent organizer
  • Child tray
  • Universal car seat adapter
  • Removable rear seat
  • All-wheel suspension
  • Linked parking brakes
  • Over-sized canopy
  • Large storage basket with side pockets

We recently took E and Ryan into the city with the Caboose Too Ultralight. Our last visit to NYC with my other double stroller was rough! I had such a hard time steering the stroller on the train into the city from New Jersey and around Penn Station. I actually had to fold the stroller to get it down the aisle of the train car.

It was a totally different story with the Caboose Too Ultralight! I was very easily able to maneuver the Caboose Too Ultralight down the train car aisle without any issues! That's right, I was able to stroll the Ultralight down the aisle of the train car and didn't event have to take the kids out of the stroller. Once I was in Penn Station (NY), Maneuvering around fellow train riders was a cinch! I can honestly say that having the Ultralight with us made the whole trip so much easier! Not once did I have to take the children out and fold it so that I could move it.

A few weeks after that we took a trip to the Circus which was being held at out local sports complex. It was great having the Joovy Caboose Too to stroll both children in. It was a sunny day so we got a lot of use out of the over-sized canopy which kept the sun out of E and Ryan's eyes.

The Ultralight is ultra-maneuverable and incredibly light! When not in use, the stroller is very easy to fold. A problem that I have with most double strollers is that the seats are side by side and most of the time the wheels are too wide, making it harder to maneuver through small areas or spaces. This can complicate things when trying to do simple things such as shopping. The ultralight is very compact and doesn't take up a lot of space. When at the store I can easily stroll down the aisles and in between racks without bumping into anything.

I also love how the Caboose Too Ultralight adapts, allowing older child to ride on the rear bench seat or standing platform. This is helpful when I have my four year old nephew Angel with me. He loves using the standing platform but its nice to have the bench seat for when he needs to take a break and sit.

My husband, Lonnie, also wanted me to mention that the Caboose Too Ultralight is great when strolling on gravel. A few days ago he took E to a flea market where the ground was mostly rocks and gravel. Lonnie said, "The stroller has shock absorbing wheels which reduce vibration." He's right and I've noticed it too! Strolling in the Ultralight is a much less bouncy ride compared to other strollers we've used.

We don't have much use for the infant car seat adapter but I'm sure that when we do decide to have a second child, we will still be able to use the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight with both kiddos! You can see the Ultralight with a car seat below!

I would definitely recommend the Joovy Caboose Too Ultralight to parents of more than one child and if you are a city parent who frequents the train or subway, the Caboose Too Ultralight is for you!
