#ad Keeping our dog healthy with @Banfield & GIVEAWAY

*Disclosure: The Optimum Wellness Plan and information have been provided by Banfield Pet Hospital®

Keeping our beloved dog, Bandit healthy is high up on our priority list. See, he used to have seizures and once we got them under control with natural dog food we make sure he is healthy by staying up to date on his vaccinations as well as his heart worm prevention.

Heart worm disease is one of the most serious and potentially fatal parasites affecting dogs. They can contract it from just one bite of an infected mosquito!

During our visit to Banfield the Vet Tech explained the seriousness to me and to be honest I had no idea it was contracted from mosquitos. Heart worm disease is easy to prevent and is safe and affordable.

In order to properly protect your pets from heart worm infection, Banfield Pet Hospital recommends annual heart worm testing and year round preventative medicine for both cats and dogs. This can be administered during your pets routine office visit.

We have the Optimum Wellness Plan which gives us unlimited office visits, comprehensive exams, special discounts on products and services and so much more!   Optimum Wellness Plans always provide the services you pay for. Banfield wellness plans provide affordably priced healthcare plans that spread the cost, conveniently over 12 months.

At Bandit's Wellness visit he received his vaccinations but we needed to come back for his 6 month heart worm prevention injection. This year we went with the 6 month injection to make sure we didn't forget to give him his pill each month. We have a busy household and it could easily be forgotten.

ProHeart® 6 is an injectable heartworm preventive that can be prescribed to healthy dogs over the age of 6 months, which delivers six months of protection in a single dose—offering both convenience and peace of mind to pet owners.

ProHeart® 6 can protect dogs from dangerous heartworm disease by preventing immature worms from maturing into adults that cause damage in the pet’s heart.

Before a pet can start on heartworm preventive, he/she needs to be tested to make sure they are free of adult heartworms —this is done through a quick, simple blood test at your veterinarian’s office.

Banfield will donate $1 per reader comment (up to 100 comments) to Banfield Charitable Trust, a donor-supported non-profit. BCT’s mission is to preserve the human animal bond by keeping pets with their families who love them. Each year, BCT helps 100,000 struggling families through seven programs ranging from life-saving emergency care to assistance with pet food or other urgent pet care needs.

To help keep your dog safe Bandfield has provided the opportunity for a giveaway winner  to receive a free office visit at Banfield Pet Hospital for a dog to receive a free heartworm test and free 6-months of Proheart® 6 .  A Banfield representative will reach out to the winner directly to get him or her set-up with their free visit and free 6-months of Proheart® 6 (for dogs only).

No, she has not received it yet. I just got her and I'm looking to change brands from the brand I used with my other dog. Winning this would be great!
