Taking Care Of My Health With Amwell #MOMSLOVEAMWELL #AMWELL

Let's face it, as Moms we often tend to put ourselves on the back burner and take care of everyone else in the family. I am so guilty if doing this, especially since there isn't enough time in the day.

For us busy Moms we can now talk to a Dr right from the comfort of our own home. With Amwell, the nation's largest telehealth company, you can connect with board certified, licensed doctors, dietitians and pshycologsits for immediate online visits right from your phone or computer.

Recently I was the first to get sick and the last to get taken care . Between taking the kids to the Dr, picking up prescriptions and taking care of them I almost forgot about myself, until I couldn't stop coughing.

After the kids went to bed one night, I signed up for Amwell, put in some information and was ready to talk to a Dr within a few minutes. Having a Dr available 24 hours a day makes it that much easier for me to take care of myself.

Amwell also offers behavioral health therapists for those times when you feel like life it getting out of control. They are available from 8am-8pm but you may have to schedule an appointment prior to the visit. It's a very simple process. Sign up for your appointment and they will call you and send you a reminder prior to the appointment.

Some examples that Amwell offers therapy are

·         Trauma and Loss
·         Stress and Anxiety
·         Infertility Stress
·         Changes in Mood
·         Postpartum Support
·         Parenting Issues
·         Anger Management
·         Financial Challenges
·         Substance Abuse
·         Relationship issues
All visits are HIPPA protected, same as going into a Dr office.

My appointment went great minus a little hiccup my computer was having connecting. The Dr called me and we were able to fix that hiccup and start my visit.

After explaining all of my symptoms to her and coughing the entire visit she was able to diagnose with what I was pretty sure I had, bronchitis. She gave me some great recommendations on things to do to help ease my cough and even told me about a prescription that helps break up the mucus.

My visit was about 25 minutes and I did it comfortably from my own couch. No traffic, waiting in office with screaming kids, rushing to pick kids up.

1.                   Lower cost. Consumers expect online behavioral health visits to be cost-savers; with in-office visits costing, on average, $165 for first-time patients according to the Healthcare Blue Book, Amwell offers a $79-95 therapist or psychologist visit – a savings of $80+ per visit.  Insurers are beginning to cover telehealth visits as well, rendering the cost of the visit to be just the copay!

2.                   Accessibility.  After hours or weekend availability.  Great for those who do have transportation or when you don’t feel well enough to drive and those who are newly relocated and don’t have providers yet.

3.                   Convenience.  Consumers are looking for a faster appointment.  Amwell staff therapists may be able to see you that day or in the next couple of days – and all from the comfort and convenience of their own home. No babysitters needed, no time taken off from work, no hassle and total privacy.
